(JTA) — Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was released from the hospital after cancer surgery and will continue to recuperate at home.
Ginsburg, 85, who was released on Tuesday, had surgery to remove a cancerous growth from her left lung. The growth was discovered during tests after she fell last month and broke two ribs.
The Jewish justice had the surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York on Friday and spent five days there. She reportedly continued to work from her hospital bed.
Following the surgery, she has been declared cancer-free. She had colon cancer 20 years ago and pancreatic cancer 10 years ago.
Ginsburg leads the court’s liberal minority and has vowed to serve out President Donald Trump’s term.
She has not missed a day of oral argument since she was appointed 25 years ago by President Bill Clinton. The Supreme Court is scheduled to meet next on Jan. 7.
The feature film about Ginsburg, “On The Basis of Sex,” was released in theaters on the same day she was released from the hospital.
