Bestselling author Rabbi Naomi Levy will be the keynote speaker for the 13th annual CHAI Circle retreat on Sunday, Nov. 5, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Hacienda del Sol Guest Ranch Resort, 5501 N. Hacienda del Sol Road.
CHAI Circle is a support group for women in the Jewish community with a history of cancer.
Levy is the author of the newly released “Einstein and the Rabbi” and the national bestseller “To Begin Again” as well as “Talking to God” and “Hope Will Find You.” She will present “Judaism and Soul, Healing, Meditation and Prayer,” exploring how getting to know the voice of our own souls can deepen and elevate our lives. The retreat will include meditation and the opportunity to write personal prayers.
Levy is the founder and leader of Nashuva, a Jewish spiritual outreach movement based in Los Angeles. She was named one of the “Top 50 Rabbis in America” by Newsweek and has appeared on “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” “The Today Show,” and on NPR. She was in the first class of women to enter the Rabbinical School at Jewish Theological Seminary, and the first woman in the Conservative movement to lead a congregation on the West Coast.
Alice Steinfeld, M.Ed., M.A., L.P.C. and Helen Rothstein, M.S.W., L.C.S.W., will serve as facilitators. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided.
