ALMA HERNANDEZ, daughter of Consuelo and Daniel Hernandez, will celebrate becoming a bat mitzvah on Saturday, April 8 at Congregation Chaverim.
Alma is a second-year graduate student at the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health at the University of Arizona. She is also the Jewish Community Relations Council coordinator for the Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona. She has been involved with the UA Hillel Foundation, was a Glass Leadership Institute Fellow with the Anti-Defamation League and was president of CatPac Wildcats for Israel. She sings in the choir at Chaverim and volunteers at several local organizations.
