Taste of Judaism heads into 17th season

Temple Emanu-El will offer its 17th year of free Taste of Judaism classes beginning next month.

The program explores Judaism in three two-hour sessions on Jewish spirituality, values and community, taught by Temple Emanu-El’s rabbis. In Tucson, the national outreach program, open to all, has had over 5,800 participants in the past 16 years.

Temple Emanu-El will continue to partner with Tucson Hebrew Academy on a Taste of Judaism family class. At the same time as the regular Taste class for adults, a separate children’s class will be taught by a THA teacher.

Daytime and evening classes are offered in various locations and include “tastes” of traditional Jewish foods. Pre-registration is required to Mila Vasser at 327-4501 or mila@tetucson.org.

Sessions include:

Sundays, September 11, 18, 25, 2-4 p.m. at Tucson Hebrew Academy, 3888 E River Road. (Family class available — separate children’s program at the same time)

Mondays, September 12, 19, 26, 6-8 p.m. at Nanini Library, 7300 N. Shannon Road

Thursdays, September 8, 15, 22, 6-8 p.m. at Temple Emanu-El

Sundays, October 16, 23, 30, 1:30-3:30 p.m. at Temple Emanu-El (Childcare available)

Thursdays, November 3, 10, 17, 3-5 p.m. at Splendido, 13500 N. Rancho Vistoso Blvd.
