Roberta White, 88, died Jan. 16, 2016.
Born in Chicago and raised in Minneapolis, Mrs. White graduated from North High School. When her brother Alvin returned from World War II, he introduced her to Mandell White. They were married in 1947 and built a series of successful businesses in Minneapolis. In 1961, they moved to Tucson and in 1962 established the Arizona Academy of Beauty, which had three locations. She was a member of Temple Emanu-El for over 50 years.
Mrs. White was preceded in death by her husband, Mandell White and brother Alvin Cohen. Survivors include her children, Stewart of Tucson, Francine of Encino, Calif., and Randy of Laguna Niguel, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.
Graveside services were held in the Temple Emanu-El section of Evergreen Cemetery with Rabbi Samuel M. Cohon officiating.
