Liliana Jade Isaac, daughter of Nina and Andrew Isaac, will celebrate becoming a bat mitzvah on Sept. 17 at Congregation Anshei Israel.
She is the granddaughter of Dr. Seth and Sharon Weintraub of Jacksonville, Ore., the late Frances Sydney, and Barbara and Chuck Isaac of Phoenix, and the great-granddaughter of Lillian Mendelson of Tucson.
Liliana attends Tucson Hebrew Academy. She enjoys soccer, swimming and reading.
For her mitzvah project, she is organizing a community mah jongg game night on Oct. 30 to raise money for the Frances Sydney Scholarship Fund, which was established by the International Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Foundation to honor Liliana’s late grandmother and her contributions to the establishment and growth of the IOCDF throughout her life.
