Herman Grunstein, 93, died March 30, 2016.
Born in Paterson, N.J., Mr. Grunstein served in the U.S. Air Force medical corps from 1942-45. Following the war, he opened a fabric store with his father in Paterson. In 1954 he married Claire Weiss and they worked together at fabric stores established in Pompton Lakes and Bloomingdale, N.J. They moved to Tucson in 1978 intending to retire, but soon openedĀ Fabrics That Go, which they ran with their son Robert.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Claire; sons, Gary Grunstein and Robert Grunstein; sisters, Evelyn Cherkasky and Dorie Orbach, both of New Jersey.
Services were held at Evergreen Mortuary with Rabbi Samuel M. Cohon officiating. Interment followed in the Temple Emanu-El section of Evergreen Cemetery.
