A U.S. Marine infantry radar operator, Mr. Dorfman was a survivor of three South Pacific campaigns — Roi Namur, Saipan and Iwo Jima. He returned home to Bayonne, N.J., in 1945, and later moved to Roselle, N.J. Upon the birth of their first grandson, in Arizona, he and his wife moved to Tucson.
Mr. Dorfman was preceded in death by his wife of almost 69 years, Doris, in September 2015. Survivors include his daughters, Marcy (Lisa) and Suzyn (Jak) of Tucson; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Renee and Phil Sachs; sister-in-law, Evelyn Dorfman; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
