Solomon C. Steinfeld, 103, died Dec. 24, 2014.
Born in New York City, Mr. Steinfeld attended City College and Columbia University. He was a teacher and business department chair, who authored numerous business, bookkeeping and accounting textbooks for high school and college students. In 1983, he retired to Tucson with his late wife, Mollie, where he continued to write textbooks. For the past 20 years, he has shared his life with Frances Cohen, his loving companion and best friend.
Survivors include his children, Judith (Gerald) Fleischner and Joel (Alice) Steinfeld; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by the Sosnow family from Scottsdale and Albany, N.Y.
Services were held at Evergreen Mortuary with Rabbi Robert Eisen officiating. Interment followed in the Congregation Anshei Israel section of Evergreen Cemetery.
