Jewel Rosenthal Fishkin, 92, died Sept. 23, 2015.
Mrs. Fiskin wintered in Tucson for many years and moved here permanently almost five years ago. She was involved in Jewish organizations in Chicago, including as women’s chair of State of Israel Bonds, board member of Women’s Division Jewish United Fund, honorary board member of Jewish United Fund response center, life member of Hadassah, ORT, Jewish National Fund, Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, Magen David Adom and Weizmann Institute. She was a charter member of the Illinois Jewish Genealogy Society and family historian of Horwitz, Rosenthal, Shore, Goldman, Fishkin and Caplan family trees.
Mrs. Fishkin was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Fishkin. Survivors include her children, Ned Fishkin of Chicago, Scott (Rhonda) Fishkin of Buffalo Grove, Ill., and Holly (Steve) Shenitzer of Tucson; sister, Meryl Olin of Denver; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services were held in Chicago.
