Edward Moiseevich Ostrovskiy

Eduard Moiseevich Ostrovskiy, 80, died Feb. 23, 2015.

Mr. Ostrovsky was born in Dneprope-  trovsk, Ukraine. His family fled to Uzbekistan during World War II. When his father concluded military service, they returned to Dnepropetrovsk, where Mr. Ostrovskiy graduated from high school and dental college with honors. He also was enrolled in music school with a specialty in opera singing. He married  in 1968. After the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991, they moved to the United States. In 1998, they settled in Tucson, where Mr. Ostrovskiy worked as a dental technician.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Dina Ostrovskiy; children, Renata (Misha) El of Tucson and Vlad Ostrovskiy of  South Carolina; and five grandchildren.

Graveside services were held in the Congregation Young Israel section of Evergreen Cemetery with Rabbi Yehuda Ceitlin of Chabad Tucson officiating.
