Dillon Gabriel Simmers, son of Leah and Steve Simmers, will celebrate becoming a bar mitzvah on Saturday, Oct. 24, at Congregation Or Chadash.
He is the great grandson of the late Thelma “Teddi” Barlin.
Dillon attends Emily Gray Junior High School. He enjoys soccer, reading and board games.
For his mitzvah project he has been working on a project he has named “Stuffed With Hope.” He is collecting new stuffed animals to bring to local police stations for officers to give out to children when they arrive on traumatic calls. He is also collecting cards, letters and drawings to thank our local police department for all they do.
