Bertha Segal

obit _segalBertha Kaplan Segal, 89, died April 11, 2015.

Born to Russian immigrant parents in Gouverneur, N.Y., Mrs. Segal was a language and speech pathologist for the Canton Public Schools and Skaneateles Public Schools in New York. Upon her retirement, Mrs. Segal and her late husband, Abner Segal, moved to Tucson in 1993. She attained her Arizona certification and worked for the Amphitheater Public Schools in Tucson as well as at the White Mountain Apache Indian Reservation. Mrs. Segal was a docent at Tohono Chul Park and a member of Congregation Anshei Israel.

Survivors include her children, Robert (Anne) Segal and Barbara (Gerald) Goldberg of Tucson and Janet (Leonard) Strauss of Leverett, Mass.; brother, Albert (Vreni) Kaplan; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services were held in the Congregation Anshei Israel section of Evergreen Cemetery with Rabbi Robert Eisen officiating.
