UA to host Western Jewish studies forum

The University of Arizona’s Center for Judaic Studies will host “Continuity and Discontinuity in Jewish Culture,” the annual Western Jewish Studies Association conference, next month. Membership in the WJSA is not required to attend the conference.

Theodore Sasson, senior research scientist at the Cohen Center for Modern Jewish Studies at Brandeis University, will be the keynote speaker on Sunday, May 4 at the “Scholars Dinner” at 6 p.m. in the UA Memorial Student Union, north ballroom. Sasson’s topic will be “American Jews’ New Relationship to Israel.” Sasson is also a visiting research professor of sociology at Brandeis and a professor of international and global studies at Middlebury College in Vermont.
