Susan Luskin Kaplan, 95, died Dec. 11, 2014.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mrs. Kaplan was the daughter of Russian immigrants and fourth in a family of eight siblings. She moved to California after World War II, where she met Danny Luskin, a U.S. army veteran. They had two children; Sheryl and Len. She worked for over 30 years for the Los Angeles City School District and was involved in many organizations and with her synagogue, Adat Ari El. She was an active member of the synagogue Sisterhood, ORT, B’nai B’rith Women, Hadassah and National Organization of Jewish Women. She was a member of Mensa, Widow to Widow, Parents Without Partners and University Women. After Danny died in 1968, she met and married Jack Englehart, After he died, she moved to Tucson where she met and married Sam Kaplan. They were married for two years before he died.
Survivors include her children, Sheryl Luskin (Michael) Ginsberg of Salt Lake City and Len (Ginny) Luskin of Tucson; three grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services were held at Evergreen Mortuary with Rabbi Samuel M. Cohon of Temple Emanu-El officiating. Interment was in Mission Hills, Calif.
