Shirley R. Chorney, 79, died Dec. 1, 2014.
Born in Providence, R.I., Mrs. Chorney lived mostly in the Boston area before moving to the Tucson area in 1995. During her professional career, she was a marketing executive for Digital Equipment Corp. She was also very active in community organizations and volunteer work, including Pima Council on Aging, serving as president of the Sun Valley havurah, Sun City Astronomy Club and Sun City Foundation.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Paul Chorney; children, Howard Chorney of Framingham, Mass., Linda(Scott Fadynich) Chorney of Tucson, Deborah (Vincent Panero) Chorney and Dianne (Richard) Turner, both of Eugene, Ore.; brother, Edward Katz of Cincinnati; and five grandchildren.
Private family services were held.
