Bob Harris, a former policy and management expert with the federal government, will lead a four-part, non-partisan government discussion series cosponsored by Hadassah Southern Arizona and the Tucson Jewish Community Center, beginning Thursday, Nov. 13.
The topics will be “The State of the U.S. Economy Today” (Nov. 13); “Social Security Reform” (Dec. 11), “Balancing the Federal Budget” (Jan. 8) and “The U.S. Position in Today’s World” (Feb. 12). The sessions will be held from 2-4 p.m. in the JCC board room.
Harris served in the federal government from the Eisenhower Administration until a year before Bill Clinton left office. He was in the senior executive service, the top level of the federal civil service system, for many years. He held management positions in various health and social welfare programs, interacting with other federal, state and local government agencies, White House staff and congressional committees and their staffs.
A $25 donation to Hadassah will cover all four sessions and is due Nov. 13. Donations will benefit the Hadassah Medical Organization in Jerusalem.
Light refreshments will be served. RSVP to Phyllis Harris at montague1@comcast.net or 797-5519.
