Linda and David Nathanson met in 1961 at the former Jewish Community Center on Plumer Avenue in Tucson. The occasion was a Harvest Moon dance put on by Lillian Wald B’nai Birth Girls. Linda was a junior in high school and Dave was a junior at the University of Arizona. Dave came to the dance to pick up his eldest sister, Phyllis. He asked Linda to dance and later offered to drive her home, leaving Phyllis to find her own ride home. Linda and Dave went “steady” for the next three years and were married in 1964 at Temple Emanu-El, with Rabbi Albert T. Bilgray officiating.

Linda and Dave have two children, Scott and Nicole, and three grandchildren. Linda was a school teacher for the Catalina Foothills School District. Dave became a partner in Tobin Homes and later in Becklin Homes.
