Miriam Sternstein

Mrs. Sternstein and her husband, Aaron, moved to Tucson from Chicago in 1949. She worked in the family business until retirement. After retirement, Miriam volunteered at the University of Arizona Medical Center for more than 25 years. Donating over 13,000 hours of her time, she received numerous honors and recognitions for her service, including the Dorothy F. Novak Distinguished Volunteer Award in 2005.

Mrs. Sternstein was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron, in 1970. Survivors include her children, Alan Sternstein of Bethesda, Md., Ken (Lenora) Sternstein of Tucson and Debbie (Marc) Simon of Tucson; sister, Fern Dayno of Chicago; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held in the Temple Emanu-El section of Evergreen Cemetery with Rabbi Samuel M. Cohon officiating.
