Jan Wiesel, 85, died Oct. 29, 2014.
Born in Jasina, Czechoslovakia, Mr. Wiesel was a Holocaust survivor. He arrived in New York in 1952 after graduating from school in Sweden, where he learned his trade as a machinist. He moved to Tucson in 1960 and worked in the family sign business as manager. After retiring, he served the Tucson Unified School District as a crossing guard for over 20 years.
Survivors include his daughter, Monica Beth Wiesel of Memphis, Tenn.; and sister, Bella Bleier, of Tucson.
Graveside services were held in the Congregation Ansehi Israel section at Evergreen Mortuary, with Rabbi Robert Eisen officiating.
