David Sirota, 86, died Oct. 2, 2014.
Born in Detroit, Mr. Sirota moved to Tucson in 1947. He graduated from Tucson High School and earned bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees from the University of Arizona. He was a professor of real estate finance and investment, teaching at the UA, University of Nebraska at Omaha, National University in San Diego, Eastern Michigan University and California State University, Fullerton. Mr. Sirota wrote four text books in his field that are used in colleges across the nation. He was a founding member of the Jewish Friendship Club and Beth Shalom Temple Center in Green Valley. He was an active member of Rotary, serving as sergeant at arms for many years; he also served on the Green Valley Recreation board and the coordinating council board. He was a resident of La Posada, where he was the broker of record at its inception.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Roslyn, six children; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
