Benjamin David Spiegel, son of Ester Vider-Spiegel and Ron Spiegel, will celebrate becoming a Bar Mitzvah on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Temple Emanu-El.
He is the grandson of Meira Spiegel and the late David Spiegel of Beit She’an, Israel, and Hanna Vider and the late David Vider of Asseret, Israel.
Ben is homeschooled. He enjoys reading, being part of Lego robotics teams, programming, photography, Pokémon, Minecraft and music. Ben is a Life Scout in Troop 211 and is preparing to become an Eagle scout.
For his mitzvah project, Ben collected food and money donations for Matzah and More, a project of Jewish Family & Children’s Services that puts together Passover baskets for families in need. He collected $356 and 230 boxes of soup mix. He also attended the basket assembly event, where volunteers filled 200 baskets.
