Watershed Management Group will hold three seminars in its “Simple Solutions for Sustainable Living” series next month at the Tucson Jewish Community Center.
On Thursday, Nov. 7 at 6:30 p.m., Tory Syracuse will present “Responsible Home Ownership in the Desert,” focusing on strategies such as rainwater and greywater harvesting and native landscaping. On Thursday, Nov. 14 at 6:30 p.m., Karilyn Roach will present “Guiding Local Leadership Toward a Water Secure Future for Tucson.” On Thursday, Nov. 21 at 6:30 p.m., Catlow Shipek will present “Learn to Build Healthy Desert Soils for Productive Landscapes,” explaining how “wastes” such as storm water or tree trimmings can be transformed into resources to enhance soil for growing food and native plants.
