Nathan Michael Ballen Brown, son of Lenore Ballen and Howard Brown, will celebrate becoming a Bar Mitzvah on Aug. 10 at Congregation Or Chadash.
He is the grandson of the late Ethel and Samuel Ballen, of Santa Fe, N.M. and Frances and the late Sheldon Brown of Pinebrook Pines, Fla.
Nathan attends Orange Grove Middle School. He plays trumpet in the band and has been a member of the jazz band since 6th grade. He enjoys cooking, playing trumpet and piano, origami, finding new uses for duct tape and reading science fiction. For his mitzvah project, he volunteered at Sunrise Drive Elementary School beginning band for two years and collected over 190 pounds of food for Interfaith Community Services.
