Mildred Elaine “Millie” Wool (nee Goodman), 89, died July 3, 2013.
A lifelong resident of Waukegan, Ill., and a frequent winter visitor to Tucson, Mrs. Wool graduated from Waukegan High School and the University of Wisconsin, Madison. After her marriage in 1948 to Buddy Wool, they started their life together in Waukegan, where Buddy began his medical practice. Mrs. Wool worked as his office administrator for more than 45 years; she knew every patient and participated in their care. She was active in the sisterhood at Temple Am Echod, Hadassah, Women’s Auxiliary of Victory Memorial Hospital and grade school PTAs.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Frohman “Buddy” Wool, M.D., of Waukegan; children, Norman (Ruth) Wool, M.D., of Northbrook, Ill., Karla Wool Bukstein of Madison, Wisc., Steven Wool, M.D., of Tucson, and Gary (Lauren) Wool of Deerfield, Ill.; 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Services were held in Illinois.
