Michael Harris Gross, son of Craig and Lori Gross, will celebrate becoming a Bar Mitzvah on Saturday, Oct. 12 at Temple Emanu-El.
Michael attends Esperero Canyon Middle School, where he plays baritone in the school band. He also plays the drums and enjoys soccer, baseball, basketball, golf, skiing and Lego Robotics.
For his mitzvah project, he is raising money and awareness for Nothing but Nets, a program that fights malaria by purchasing and delivering insecticide-treated bed netting to countries in Africa, and providing meals to people living in a local shelter.
