“The Last Bully: Stopping Epidemics of Violence” is the 2013-14 theme of the first Media Making a Difference film series, sponsored by the Aurora Foundation, Tucson International Jewish Film Festival, Loft Cinema and the Fund for Civility, Respect and Understanding.
“Submit the Documentary: The Virtual Reality of Cyberbullying” will screen on Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. at the Loft Cinema, 3233 E. Speedway Blvd. The documentary, which is appropriate for parents and older children, includes interviews with affected teens, parents of victims, educators and law enforcement. The film offers solutions to the problem of bullying. A panel discussion with the filmmakers and a Q and A will follow.
Subsequent films in the series will include “What Killed Kevin?” on Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. at the Tucson Jewish Community Center; “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” on Feb. 5 at 7 p.m. at the JCC; and “Combat Girls” on March 27 at 7 p.m. at the Loft.
