Lil “Cookie” Boas, 91, died July 11, 2013.
Mrs. Boas and her family moved to Tucson in 1959. She found work as a model, singer and actress, and can be seen as an extra in the John Wayne classic, “McLintock!” She worked at Merrill Lynch and retired after 25 years of service. She served as president of City of Hope, was named Woman of the Year and volunteered at St. Joseph’s Hospital for over a decade.
Services were held at Evergreen Mortuary with Rabbi Jason Holtz officiating. Interment followed in the Temple Emanu-El section of Evergreen Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the City of Hope, Gentiva (formerly Odyssey) Hospice and the Carondolet Foundation.
