The Tucson Jewish Community Center is taking part in the JCC Association’s stationary bike event, Cycle for Good, on Sunday, Dec. 8. Thanks to staggered start times, participants in Cycle for Good will be riding bikes at the same time in JCCs across North America.
Every year, Cycle for Good will raise money for participating JCCs and give a certain portion to a charity designated by the JCC Association. This year, Tucson’s JCC will make a 45 percent donation to Special Olympics, the athletic competition for the developmentally disabled, and a 50 percent donation to the JCC’s special needs department. Five percent goes back to the JCCA.
The Tucson JCC will host two 90-minute sessions at a cost of $50 each. Session one will be from 8:30 to 10 a.m. and session two will be from 10:15 to 11:45 a.m. This event is open to everyone. Bikes can be reserved and donations made in person or over the phone.
