Hyman Dunn, 91, died March 23, 2013.
Mr. Dunn was raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., the son of Russian immigrants who came through Ellis Island around 1918. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and moved to Tucson in 1944. Mr. Dunn worked as a self-employed, door-to-door salesman and owned Dunn’s Mercantile Company, which sold household goods. He was an early member of Congregation Anshei Israel and then a member of Temple Emanu-El for many years. He was an active member of B’nai B’rith.
Mr Dunn was preceded in death by his wife, Miriam, and daughter Anne Estar Dunn. Survivors include his children: Leslie Dunn (Charles) Levine of Oceanside, Calif., Jonathan (Jane Payne) Dunn of Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., and Seth Ari (Bonnie Ross) Dunn of Torrance, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at Handmaker Jewish Services for the Aging.
