Emma Rose Plattner, daughter of Sabrina and Danny Plattner, will become a Bat Mitzvah on Saturday, Oct. 26 at Congregation Chaverim.
She is the granddaughter of Heather and David Alberts of Tucson, Marvin Plattner of St. Louis, Mo., and the late Joan Plattner.
Emma attends Esperero Canyon Middle School, where she was an Eagle Ambassador and sings in the choir. She swims on the Ventana Canyon Swim Team and enjoys acting and attending sleep-away camp in Wisconsin.
For her mitzvah project, she volunteered last summer as a CIT at Tucson Village Farms Summer camp and is donating money to TVF and Camp for All Kids, a nonprofit organization that gives children from American inner cities the opportunity to attend a sleep-away camp.
