Howard J. Schwartz, M.D., will speak on “Ethical Issues for Jewish Doctors” at a Hadassah Southern Arizona lunch on Thursday, April 18 at noon at Skyline Country Club.
Born in New York City, Schwartz attended yeshiva and received his B.A. from Brooklyn College and his M.D. from the Einstein College of Medicine. He was an internal medicine intern, resident and chief resident at NYU – Bellevue Hospital. After two years in the army, he received a fellowship in allergy and immunology at Harvard Medical School and the Massachusetts General Hospital.
Schwartz is emeritus professor at Case Western Reserve University Medical School in Cleveland, Ohio, where he was involved in lab and clinical research, teaching and patient care. He has also continued to pursue Jewish studies and is a visiting scholar at the University of Arizona Center for Judaic Studies.
