DIANE OLIVIA ZASHIN, daughter of Lisa and Todd Zashin, will celebrate becoming a Bat Mitzvah on Saturday, Jan. 19 at Temple Emanu-El.
She is the granddaughter of Marsha and Robert Rosenblum of Thousand Oaks, Calif., and Joyce Zashin of Tucson.
Diane attends Orange Grove Middle School, where she plays clarinet in the band. She also swims with the Tucson Synchro synchronized swimming team. For her mitzvah project, she volunteered for the City of Tucson Annual Water Safety Days and will also volunteer as a junior lifeguard. She is raising money for a lift-chair at the Edith Ball Adaptive Recreation Center, which will enable disabled individuals to enjoy the pool.
