Hannah Elyse Peskin-Owens, the daughter of Joy Peskin-Owens and the late Jon Owens, will celebrate becoming a Bat Mitzvah on Saturday, Oct. 5 at Congregation Anshei Israel.
She is the granddaughter of Marilyn Peskin Kaufman and Paul Kaufman of Tucson, Anne Owens of Glendale, Ariz., and James C. Rowland of Lame Deer, Mont.
Hannah is a student in the GATE program at Alice Vail Middle School, where she plays violin in the orchestra. She dances at Arizona Ballet Theatre and is on the Highland Vista Swim Team. She enjoys reading, drawing and dancing.
For her mitzvah project she has contributed money to the Gilo Twinning Project, and she will donate a portion of her gifts to Beads of Courage, as well as participate in bead-making events and Team Beads of Courage.
