Temple Emanu-El is offering a new program for interfaith families, “Stepping Stones to a Jewish Family.”
Stepping Stones is designed to introduce interfaith families to Judaism and Jewish rituals, synagogue life and community participation in a relaxed, informal way.
Temple Emanu-El is partnering with the Tucson Hebrew Academy on this program, which is sponsored by a grant from the Steven A. Lightman Family Foundation at the Jewish Community Federation of Southern Arizona.
More information about Stepping Stones will be presented at a Chanukah kick-off party on Saturday, Dec. 15 at 9 a.m. at Temple Emanu-El. The event will feature new and old Chanukah traditions including making latkes, spinning dreidels, songs, stories and Chanukah treats. There is no cost or obligation to attend and all are welcome.
For more information or to RSVP, contact Chava Gal-Or, youth education director, or Mila Vasser, program coordinator, at 327-4501 or e-mail chava@templeemanueltucson.org or mila@temple emanueltucson.org.
“Stepping Stones to a Jewish Family” will meet twice a month on Saturday mornings, beginning Jan. 19. Through discussions, hands-on activities and interactive experiences, participants will explore Judaism.
