Revamped website features Russian survivors

The TucsonSurvivors.org website has been updated to include the texts of 13 Russian Holocaust survivors’ testimonials, which have been translated into English. Each story is accompanied by photographs, many from the 1940s and ’50s. Richard Fenwick, a volunteer with Jewish Family & Children’s Services, provided the translations.

The original videos of eight local Holocaust survivors have been divided into short YouTube segments that make it easier for teachers to search by category, such as entering the ghetto or life before the war, says Bryan Davis, youth and Holocaust education coordinator of the Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona’s Coalition for Jewish Education. Another 15 survivor videos will be added in coming months, says Davis.

Davis will update the site often with information on Holocaust education/remembrance programming and upcoming events in Southern Arizona. For more information, contact Davis at 577-9393, ext. 124, or bdavis@jfsa.org.
