Reva Golad

Reva Schwartz Golad, 92, died Oct. 15, 2012.

Born in Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Golad attended Manual High School and Kansas City Teachers’ College (now UMKC). She married Maurice “Tiny” Schwartz in 1941.They owned Tiny’s Delicatessen in Kansas City. For 25 years, she worked at the Kansas City Jewish Federation where she helped organize fundraising for charitable organizations. She was widowed at the age of 45. In 1970, she married Louis Golad and moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She helped manage the Golad Real Estate Company and she served as president of Hadassah. In 2000, after the death of Louis Golad, she moved to Tucson to be with her daughter, Helen. She worked as a volunteer teacher aide in preschool science classes and in elementary Hebrew classes.

Mrs. Golad was predeceased by her daughter, Harriet Feder; sister, Ruth Kraft; brother, Leon Aronson; and son-in-law, Steven Salvay. Survivors include her daughter, Helen Salvay and fiancé, Stephen Nash, of Tucson; son-in-law Ron Feder; brother, Henry Aronson; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services were held at Blue Ridge Cemetery Chapel in Independence, Mo.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona, Congregation Anshei Israel or Hadassah.
