Pima County Cooperative Extension to hold free gardening classes

The University of Arizona Pima County Cooperative Extension will offer free master gardener presentations this year at Wilmot-Murphy Library on Wednesdays at 1 p.m and Oro Valley Library on Fridays at 1 p.m.

Topics and dates (Oro Valley in parentheses) include the following:

Oct. 3 (5): Preparing your vegetable garden, plant selection and getting it in the ground

Oct. 17 (19): Ask a master gardener

Nov. 7 (9): Maintaining your garden, problem solving and seed collection

Jan. 9 (11): Success with roses in the desert Southwest

Jan. 16 (18): Ask a master gardener

Feb. 6 (8): Getting ready for your warm weather vegetable garden

Feb. 20 (22): Ask a master gardener

March 6 (8): Care and feeding of citrus

March 20 (22): Ask a master gardener

April 3 (5): Creating and maintaining versatile container gardens

April 17 (19): Ask a master gardener
