Itamar Rabinovich, Israel’s ambassador to the United States from 1993 to 1996, will present “The U.S., Israel and the Challenge of Iran: Options and Constraints,” on Monday, Oct. 29 at 7 p.m. at the Tucson Jewish Community Center. A Weintraub Israel Center Heartbeat of Israel program, the free lecture is cosponsored by the University of Arizona Center for Judaic Studies.
Rabinovich was Israel’s chief negotiator with Syria in the mid-1990s. He served as president of Tel Aviv University from 1999 to 2007, where he’s been a faculty member since 1971, and is now professor emeritus of Middle Eastern history. Rabinovich is also a distinguished global professor at New York University and a distinguished fellow at the Brookings Institution.
