Helen M. Becker, 99, died Jan. 31, 2012.
Born in Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Becker was educated in the Chicago school system. She was married to Morris Becker for over 56 years. During World War II, she knitted sweaters and socks for the soldiers. In 1945, the family moved to Tucson. She was a volunteer at Crippled Children’s Clinic for over 40 years and won several service awards from the clinic. She was a lifetime member of Congregation Anshei Israel and member of Hadassah.
Survivors include her sons. Dr. William (Joyce) Becker of Tucson and Burton (Phyllis) Becker; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held at Evergreen Mortuary with Rabbi Arthur Oleisky officiating. Interment followed in the Congregation Anshei Israel section of Evergreen Cemetery.
