EZRA JOSEPH LYONS, son of Hilary and Patrick Lyons, will celebrate becoming a Bar Mitzvah on Saturday, June 2 at Congregation Chaverim.
He is the grandson of Enid Bluestein of Los Angeles, Calif., and Kathleen Lyons of Crown Point, Ind.
Ezra attends BASIS Tucson Middle School, where he is a member of the flag football and soccer teams. For his mitzvah project, he is encouraging local restaurants to include more gluten-free menu items, especially ones that are kid-friendly. Ezra was diagnosed with celiac disease when he was 5 and is now a mentor for other children with the disease through the Southern Arizona Celiac Support Group.
