Congregation Anshei Israel to dedicate ‘Wall of History’

Congregation Anshei Israel’s ‘Wall of History’ details milestones in the synagogue’s history.

Congregation Anshei Israel will hold a “Wall of History” dedication on Saturday, Oct. 13. Three panels recounting milestones in the history of the synagogue will be dedicated after years of work to produce them, an effort spearheaded by CAI’s art committee chairperson, Eleanor Jeck. The panels were donated by siblings Mimi and Charles Blitzer and their families in honor of their parents, the late Pauline and Leon Blitzer, longtime CAI congregants who were active in the Jewish community. At 3:45 p.m., in lieu of CAI’s regular Torah Study, guest speaker Eileen Warshaw, executive director of the Jewish History Museum, will present “The Jewish Pioneers of the American Southwest.” The Mincha service will follow at 4:45 p.m., with Torah readings by the Blitzer family. Third meal will be held at 5:15 p.m., followed by the Ma’ariv service at 6:45 p.m. A special Havdallah service and dedication of the panels will be held at the “Wall of History” at 7 p.m.

Reservations are requested to Michelle at 745-5550, ext. 225, to attend all or part of the program.
