Photographer dedicates JCC show to Giffords

‘Water Lily,’ digital photograph by Edlynne Sillman

Painter and printmaker Sylvia Garland and photographer Edlynne Sillman will exhibit their work at the Tucson Jewish Community Center from April 14 to May 19.

Garland’s exhibit, “Abstract Botanical Expressions,” features oil paintings and one of a kind prints on paper.

Sillman is dedicating her “America the Beautiful” exhibition “to Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords’ healing.”

“I was fortunate to photograph her at the 100th birthday of the Stone Avenue Temple,” she says, “and want to show her smiling, talking; being the ‘Gabby’ we all know and love.”

An opening reception will be held April 21 from 5 to 7 p.m.
