Lecture on Mideast revolutions set for NW

Jonathan Adelman, professor at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver, will present “Revolutions in the Middle East: Are They Good for Israel?” at an event for the Northwest Division of the Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona later this month.

Adelman, who will speak Tuesday, March 22 at 5:30 p.m. at the Omni Tucson National Resort, 2727 W. Club Dr., has taught at Hebrew University in Jerusalem and the University of Haifa and was invited this past summer for talks at the Israeli Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem and the Israeli Embassy in Washington. He has also been a visiting professor at Central European University (Budapest), Diplomatic Academy (Moscow), People’s University of China (Beijing) and Janos

Pannonius University (Hungary), and was a senior fellow of the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies in Washington from 2001-2008. He is author or editor of more than 10 books about international affairs, including “The Rise of Israel: A History of a Revolutionary State” (2008).
