Daniel Haiken

Daniel Haiken, 92, died Jan. 19, 2011.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mr. Haiken attended City College of New York before entering the military. As a first lieutenant, he completed 50 combat missions (including the raid on Ploesti) as a B-24 pilot during World War II. His awards included a unit citation, Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster and three Battle Stars. After the war, Mr. Haiken ran a business as an antique English silver expert. Later he ran Dan Haiken Associates as a manufacturers’ representative in the gift business.

Survivors include his wife, Diana; sons, Jeffrey (Sylvia) Haiken of Broomall, Pa., and Stuart (Cheri) Haiken of Tucson; and three grandchildren.

Services were held at Evergreen Mortuary with Rabbi Robert Eisen officiating. Interment followed in the Congregation Anshei Israel section of Evergreen Cemetery.
