Congregation Bet Shalom will host its 8th annual kosher-for-Passover wine tasting gala, “Not Just A Wine Tasting Event” Saturday, March 5, from 7:30 to 11 p.m. This year’s wine sponsor is Total Wine & More; the event will feature wines from California and Israel. The evening includes live music by the Pete Swan Trio, food and silent and live auction items.
“Most people associate ‘kosher’ wine with Manischewitz and other ceremonial labels that they’ve grown up with,” says Bill Goldberg, synagogue president. “People don’t realize that as the popularity of wine has grown, so have the choices for very fine wines that are kosher and kosher-for-Passover. This event has become very popular as we get members from other synagogues, and a lot of non-Jewish people who come as well to learn the differences in the wines.”
Tickets are $20 in advance (call 577-1171) or $25 at the door. Proceeds benefit Bet Shalom and its Hebrew school.
