ANA-REBECA (BECKY) MONROY, daughter of Martha and Gerardo Monroy, will celebrate becoming a Bat Mitzvah on Saturday, Feb. 5, at Hillel. Marlene Burns will officiate.
Becky is the granddaughter of Elaine and Steve Sellinger of Tucson, Annie and Norman Moore of Milford, Conn., and Concha and the late Guillermo Monroy of Guatemala City, Guatemala.
Becky attends Orange Grove Middle School where she is an honor student. She plays basketball, soccer, tennis and the guitar. For her mitzvah project, she volunteered at the Joel D. Valdez Main Library, and planned and facilitated a literacy night at a family shelter. She also collected books for the shelter.
