Alan Warshaw

Alan H. Warshaw, 73, died  Aug. 20, 2011.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mr. Warshaw was instrumental in the formation of the Colorado Canine Companions and the Delta Society Therapy Dog programs. He served as the vice president of the Colorado Humane Society and was president of the board of directors of the Colorado Woman’s School. Prior to his move to Tucson in 1994, Mr. Warshaw was the redevelopment manager for the Historic Homestead, Florida Main Street Program following the devastation of Hurricane Andrew. He was the founding partner of Small Business Services, a marketing and nonprofit management firm with clients in the U.S. and Europe.
Survivors include his wife, Eileen Warshaw; children, Marci (Paul) Wolinsky of Scottsdale, Ariz., Ellen Horwitz of Cemerast, N.J., Sherri (Steve) Zucker of Phoenix, Ariz., and Ann Williams of Gilroy, Calif.; sister, Beth (Rabbi Herbert) Russ of Elizabeth, N.J.; and seven grandchildren.
Services were held at Evergreen Mortuary with Rabbi Shafir Lobb of Congregation Kol Simchah officiating.
