The Jewish History Museum is looking for ketubot (marriage contracts), wedding attire and wedding photos to borrow for its third annual Ketubah Exhibit, which will be held Jan. 8 through Feb. 14, 2011. A fashion show of historic gowns will be held Jan. 9.
A ketubah for display may be from any state or country and need not be fancy to be included in the exhibit, says JHM Executive Director Eileen Warshaw. Wedding attire may be any article(s) worn by the bride or groom during their Jewish wedding ceremony and need not be in perfect condition. Photographs may be in black and white or color, formal or snapshots. Items from multiple generations of one family are most welcome, adds Warshaw.
