The Jewish Community Relations Council of the Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona has issued a position statement in opposition to Proposition 302 on the 2010 Arizona ballot. The statement notes that in 2009, the JCRC chose to focus its social justice efforts on the needs of local youth at risk and has made its partnership with Homer Davis Elementary School a cornerstone of that activism.
The JCRC’s statement says, in part, “Proposition 302 ignores Arizonans’ resolute support of early childhood programs by sweeping these voter-approved and legally protected funds to help balance the General Fund budget.”
